It would be better to have an executive president, like the US or
Indonesia, and scrap the office of prime minister. With a
parliamentary system, like Portugal or Australia, you can't decide
who the head of government will be. Alkatiri would never have got
into power had there not been such a system.

Dear all,
If Xanana really steps down, we don't need to have a prime Minister or president. Just president or prime Minister.
We had no human resources and money ti build a sophisticated system, but it only cause trouble

Bro.. I really agree with you but let me jus bring to your knowledge that there are 2 systems, Semi Presidential and Presidential. So there could be only a President, then Vice-President if needed and the rest Ministers in avery sexy structure, not faty like this. But we can not opt a system where there's only PM. So let us defend a presidential system with effective stakeholders and aim most of the financial resources for the people welfare. Get rid of numerous of Vice-Ministers, Secretary of States etc. With a population under 1 million a Governor is enough.
